Teacher Take-Off
6-Week Mentoring Program - 7 Student Cap

The Teacher Take-Off program is an intensive 6-week program that will empower you with concrete tools and coaching to become a powerful assistant and teacher who makes a difference for your students.  The program accounts for 30 hours of the 300 Hour Teacher Training Program.  If you have not yet applied for our 300 HR Advanced Yoga Teacher Training Program, you can learn more here, or download the brochure and application here. 
    
In the Teacher Take-Off program, you will have opportunities to assist, teach live classes at Be Luminous Yoga, and receive feedback on all elements of your teaching.  You'll work diligently on assisting, deepening your teaching of physical asana, layering in teaching beyond asana for empowerment, and connecting with your students powerfully. You'll deepen your understanding of why you teach and how you show up as a teacher and human through the Lightyear Leadership Personal Legacy program.

Specifically, you will leave this program with:

Coaching:

  • Learn to enjoy giving and receiving feedback.
  • Become comfortable being coached by others and coaching others.

Teaching Practice:

  • Hone your teaching specificity and language for impact.
  • Drop your scripts and respond to students in real-time.
  • Expand your capacity to make a difference for your students with mini in-class workshops and comfort teaching all levels of students.
  • Co-teach a free community class, open to the public, on Saturdays 10:45-11:45AM at Be Luminous.

Assisting:

  • Refine your assisting skills.
  • Assist in real classes and receive feedback.
  • Learn to read student's bodies effectively.

300-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Participants:  Please download the Teacher Take-Off Enrollment Form for this program and return it to business@beluminousyoga.com.  If you have already completed the 300-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Application and been accepted into the program, you do not need to complete the application again.   If not, please complete an application for the 300-HR Training, which you can download here.

Non 300-Hour Participants:  Please download this application and return it to business@beluminousyoga.com.  Anyone who has completed a 200-Hour Teacher Training is welcome to apply for this program without participating in the 300-HR Advanced Yoga Teacher Training.

Tuition, Payment and Refunds

300 Hour Teacher Trainees:  $695, due upon enrollment

Non-300 Hour Trainees:  $795, due upon enrollment

Tuition Refund Policy:  Refunds for the tuition of this program follow the State of Washington Workforce Training Board refund policies, and work on the percentage of the program you have completed.  If you withdraw from the program before it begins, you will be given a full refund minus a $50 processing fee.  After the program begins, you will be awarded a refund based on the percentage of the program you have completed, but not less than a $50 processing fee.

You can keep your students safe from injury while simultaneously challenging them to become stronger and more flexible. In this three day intensive, you will learn how to take this valuable information into your classes.

Desiree and Andrew each have 30 years of experience practicing and teaching all over the world. Having been trained in Iyengar and Anusara Yoga they have evolved and streamlined their deep and thorough teaching style to a method that is simple and user friendly. Andrew and Desiree are Certified Anusara and E-RYT teachers and any hours spent in this training will count towards an Anusara certification at the 300-level.

Sound Bath is an improvised concert designed to provide an environment where energy that is no longer needed can be released, shifting the mind, body and spirit into a deeply relaxed state of being. Participants are bathed in powerful vibrations that help entrain their brain waves into Theta. It is in this deeply relaxed state that physical / mental / spiritual healing can take place, activating the parasympathetic nervous system, cellular regeneration, stress release, and emotional/physical healing.

Participants lay in a comfortable position on the floor (savasana), while Daniella plays the crystal bowls and gongs, accompanied by her shamanic vocal toning. Many people have reported physical healing, and often experience a night of deep rejuvenating sleep after the sound bath. Please bring anything that you may need to feel comfortable lying on the floor for the savsana. Blankets, pillows, yoga mats etc. are welcome. Wear comfortable clothing and please be hydrated before and after the event.

About Daniella White: Daniella White is a certified Usui Reiki Master and Sound Healer practicing in Seattle, Washington. In 2004 she completed her five year reiki training and became a Reiki Master. In 2005, Daniella completed a sound healing training course taught by renowned teacher and healer, Tom Kenyon. Learning about the scientific effects of sound on the brain and body was deeply illuminating for her, and opened a pathway of exploration where she learned to combine reiki and sound to help heal the body and spirit. She has also been trained extensively in clairvoyant healing and past life regression techniques, which she employs in her private sessions. Daniella is also a vocalist, and creates headdresses with her design label The Plumed Serpent.

Desiree Rumbaugh 

With the ability to demonstrate some of the most difficult postures and–even more amazingly–getting students to experience the same sequences, Desirée has a well-earned reputation for deepening even the most advanced practices. She does it with a sense of humor balanced with a quest for authenticity. Most surprising about her teaching is her ability to tap into the student’s vulnerable spaces to access these wonderful poses. After more than thirty years of practice, including having earned teaching certificates in both Iyengar yoga and Anusara yoga, Desirée continues to live her passion for yoga every day. Desirée has an astoundingly full teaching schedule, traveling throughout the U.S. and abroad.

Special Class: Yoga Live!

Deepen your practice with Yoga and Live Music.  Experience a wonderful  Vinyasa class led by the inspirational Tina Templeman.  We will learn a mantra or two and chant together at the beginning and end of class in the Bahkti tradition.  While Tina teaches the class, Stephany Simonelli with her beautiful voice along with Craig Baldwin on harmonium, guitar and vocals will play live music.  Come experience the divine vibration of chanting and live music along with Yogasana.

Tina has over 16 years as a massage therapist and has been teaching yoga and meditation for over 14 years. She’s been a part of the Be Luminous community since 2010.

Stephany has 22 years as a massage therapist and is excited to share her knowledge from 15 years as a professional Musical Theatre singer along with 30 years of personal growth work to help create an atmosphere of sound healing.

Craig will be accompanying Stephany with guitar and song. He is a long time yoga practitioner, spiritual seeker and passionate about teaching yoga, the study of yoga history and philosophy as well as Sanskrit, mantra chanting, and Kirtan. Playing music has always been a big part of Craig’s life. Guitar, harmonium and voice are the instruments he uses to enhance his spiritual practice.

Be a Stand: An Alignment Practice with Amy Andrews

Come prepared to break down the physical elements of True North, explore the deeper meaning this pose has to offer and discover possibilities for your body and your life as you find your truest alignment and highest calling. Then, discover how to put this into practice with the people around you. Learn what it means to be a stand for the people around you and how to be in creation of something bigger together through group and partner work on your mat. Be prepared to sweat, work with partners, and share in group conversation. 

About Amy:

Amy fell in love with yoga in the start of 2008 as she was working in a high stress job and struggling with weight, anxiety, and depression. Her mom inspired her to take a class at a local Baptiste Affiliate Studio. Amy found empowerment and hope in class, and she kept coming back. Class became a place to leave, stress, fear and worry at the door. It became a place and time she cherished. Not long after, Amy was inspired to teach, yet it wasn’t until almost 6 years later she took the leap of faith after encouragement from a friend. Baptiste Yoga training broke her heart wide open, and she finally allowed it to lead the way. Amy’s life has been transformed by the Baptiste Yoga practice. She went from being stressed out and anxious to finding peace within herself. She learned how to stand in her own power and how to support and uplift the people surrounding her. As a dedicated practitioner, Amy aims to balance effort and ease in her own practice, and brings this into her teaching style, encouraging students to be curious about the inner workings of their bodies each day. You can expect laughter and silliness in class with Amy, too. Yoga is mean to be FUN! Yoga has illuminated Amy’s biggest and best self and helped her realize her full potential, and she encourages her students to discover the same for themselves.

Restorative yoga is considered the true antidote to stress because it is a practice that allows you to relax deeply with awareness. Relaxing with awareness is the key to bringing the mind‐body into a state of balance or homeostasis, similar to the effect of meditation.

Modern life is extremely demanding, and it’s easy to be swept away by the intensity of its pace. Today’s pace of life can cause us to be in a constant state of high alert, as our bodies release stress hormones that stimulate the sympathetic nervous system, or our ‘fight or flight’ response. This affects our ability to sleep soundly, to properly digest our food, to feel grounded, to have mental clarity and focus, as well as our ability to conceive a child.

Restorative Yoga integrates fully supported yin poses and passively held postures. Through props and positioning, each asana is practiced in a way that the practitioner feels held and supported. This allows you to relax deeply and completely, stimulating a parasympathetic response and allowing our bodies' systems and rythms to recalibrate and heal. This restores our sense of balance, mentally, physically and emotionally.

This training is intended for yoga instructors who would like to teach Restorative yoga, as well as for yoga practitioners who would like to more deeply understand the Restorative Yoga practice.

In addition, each student will be asked to complete 2.5 hours of mentorship. This means you would attend two classes where you will assist either Jodi or Heather in one of their Restorative Yoga classes in the Seattle area. This gives you the opportunity to assist students in a classroom setting. We will give you feedback following the classes you attend. If you live outside of the Seattle area, and are unable to attend their classes as an assistant, you will be given another option for meeting this requirement.

 

Be Luminous Yoga 300 Hour Yoga Teacher Training - This training counts as 20 hours of elective training time for this program.  If you would like for this program to count as part of your 300 hour training, please make sure you have completed the 300 Hour Advanced Training application and the Enrollment Form for this specific program, downloadable under "Application" button below.

ABOUT JODI:

Jodi feels that yoga is a precious gift and one of the greatest influences in her life. Initially drawn to yoga for the physical benefits of becoming stronger and more flexible, she soon realized there was something even more profound than the effect it was having on her body. Yoga deeply touched her heart, spirit and mind.

Practicing yoga for many years led Jodi to seek teachers and teachings  in many places, close to home in Seattle, as well as in many parts of the world. Yoga became her passion, in addition to the work she was doing with different nonprofit organizations as a grant writer.

Drawn to sharing yoga with others, Jodi began teaching in 2001.  Since, she has continued her studies by taking numerous teacher training courses, workshops and retreats. The path also led Jodi to become a certified pre-and postnatal instructor and labor support doula. She has also studied yoga’s sister science, Ayurveda. Jodi offers trainings in Pre and Postnatal Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga and Foundations in Ayurveda annually in Osaka, Japan. Recently, Jodi spent six years in Goa, India where she co-directed a yoga retreat center and taught teacher trainings and community yoga classes.

With a background in Iyengar, Vinyasa and Ananda yoga, a devotional style of yoga based on the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda, Jodi draws from these traditions to create a fluid and meditative practice. She teaches to inspire others to experience yoga within all aspects of ourselves, creating a sense of wholeness among our hearts, bodies, minds, spirits and hearts. This sense of wholeness or oneness also dissolves our sense of separation from others. She encourages students to go inward; nourishing themselves, deepening their intuition and honoring the divine within.

Jodi hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts and a Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Leadership. Her yoga training includes completing the Ananda YTT, Seattle Holistic Center’s Hour Pre-and Postnatal YTT, Brahmani Yoga’s Advanced YTT, Baron Baptiste’s Level I and II Power Vinyasa YTT, as well as trainings with Seane Corn and Shiva Rae.  She has also completed the Silver Age YTT to teach yoga to seniors. Additionally, Jodi has been a lead teacher on the Brahmani Yoga YTT, in Goa, India, Shakti Spirit YTT, in Goa, India and Ubud, Bali and Spirit Yoga’s YTT in Osaka, Japan. Her Ayurveda training includes studying at the Ayurvedic Natural Health Center in Goa, India, completing Dr. Robert Svoboda’s Ayurveda correspondence course through the Ayurveda Institute, Rasovai Massage School in Goa, India, attending a workshop with Dr. Vasant Lad through Bastyr and she is currently enrolled in the Ayurveda program at Kerala Academy. Jodi is also an LMP, graduating from Cortiva School of Massage in Seattle, WA.

Experiential Anatomy: The Spine

In this self-study (svadhyaya)  workshop we’ll learn about the spine anatomically, functionally, and experientially. 

Why? Our back is central to everything we do—in yoga and life. Having greater awareness of our own anatomy and self-use can help us find greater strength, effectiveness, and also decrease and prevent back pain. Bring your curiosity, your awareness, your coffee or tea, a notebook and pen, and wear your yoga clothes with layers for warmth. You will find your own deep insights through this facilitated journey through lecture, discussion, an Awareness through Movement® lesson (think playful, slow, exploratory floor work), and an opportunity for learning that will influence how you move through life.

In this very experiential six week class we will meet once a week for two hours to explore living with mindfulness, compassion, and resilience, which are fundamental to a life of authentic happiness. This course is a conglomeration of ancient wisdom practices (yoga, Theravada Buddhism, Zen Buddhism) and western psychology, nueroscience, and stress research. Taught by Brent Morton, who has trained and practiced extensively with pioneers in these fields, including Jack Kornfield, Dan Siegel, Peter Levine, and Tara Brach.

Mindfulness meditation will be the main technique and practice utilized in this course, the benefit of which is backed by hard science. Recent research provides strong evidence that practicing non-judgmental, present-moment awareness (a.k.a. mindfulness) changes the brain, and it does so in ways that anyone working in today’s complex business environment, and certainly every leader, should know about. Mindfulness and compassion are scientifically proven to be effective at increasing self regulation (resilience), lowering symptoms of anxiety, depression, and PTSD, as well as growing grey matter in the brain.

Mindfulness, compassion, and resilience are a way to keep our brains healthy, support self-regulation and effective decision-making capabilities, and to protect ourselves from toxic stress. They can be integrated into one’s religious or spiritual life, or practiced as a form of secular mental training.

Family Yoga Special Class with Ellie Griffin
 
Join us for a family yoga class designed especially for kids! Yoga provides amazing benefits for us humans, and kids are no exception. Starting yoga early helps not only with kid's cognitive abilities, but also helps them figure out how to recognize and control what's going on inside. We will practice breathing and being, so your 2-7 year old begins to learn how to control their body and mind. They'll gain emotional and mental awareness and make friends in the process!

Ellie is a yoga teacher who focuses on physicality and mindfulness in her teachings. She uses movement, breath work, and self love to help her students create a calm mind and compassionate heart. A Sound Bath is an improvised concert designed to provide an environment where energy that is no longer needed can be released, shifting the mind, body and spirit into a deeply relaxed state of being. Participants are bathed in powerful vibrations that help entrain their brain waves into Theta. It is in this deeply relaxed state that physical / mental / spiritual healing can take place, activating the parasympathetic nervous system, cellular regeneration, stress release, and emotional/physical healing.

Participants lay in a comfortable position on the floor (savasana), while Daniella plays the crystal bowls and gongs, accompanied by her shamanic vocal toning. Many people have reported physical healing, and often experience a night of deep rejuvenating sleep after the sound bath. Please bring anything that you may need to feel comfortable lying on the floor for the savsana. Blankets, pillows, yoga mats etc. are welcome. Wear comfortable clothing and please be hydrated before and after the event.

About Daniella: Daniella White is a certified Usui Reiki Master and Sound Healer practicing in Seattle, Washington. In 2004 she completed her five year reiki training and became a Reiki Master. In 2005, Daniella completed a sound healing training course taught by renowned teacher and healer, Tom Kenyon. Learning about the scientific effects of sound on the brain and body was deeply illuminating for her, and opened a pathway of exploration where she learned to combine reiki and sound to help heal the body and spirit. She has also been trained extensively in clairvoyant healing and past life regression techniques, which she employs in her private sessions. Daniella is also a vocalist, and creates headdresses with her design label The Plumed Serpent.

During a Yoga Sound Bath, the yoga practice is accompanied by crystal bowl and gong playing. The vibrations and tones assist your movements and brain, shifting your mind into a more meditative state and allowing you to go deeper into your  practice. The yoga portion of the class is followed by an extended sound bath savasana, where Daniella adds vocal toning to the crystal bowls and gongs.

A Sound Bath is an improvised concert designed to provide an environment where energy that is no longer needed can be released, shifting the mind, body and spirit into a deeply relaxed state of being. Participants are bathed in powerful vibrations that help entrain their brain waves into Theta. It is in this deeply relaxed state that physical / mental / spiritual healing can take place, activating the parasympathetic nervous system, cellular regeneration, stress release, and emotional/physical healing.

Participants lay in a comfortable position on the floor (savasana), while Daniella plays the crystal bowls and gongs, accompanied by her shamanic vocal toning. Many people have reported physical healing, and often experience a night of deep rejuvenating sleep after the sound bath. Please bring anything that you may need to feel comfortable lying on the floor for the savsana. Blankets, pillows, yoga mats etc. are welcome. Wear comfortable clothing and please be hydrated before and after the event. *** This class is at Room temperature and is NOT a Heated Vinyasa Class!***

About Daniella White: Daniella is a certified Usui Reiki Master and Sound Healer practicing in Seattle, Washington. In 2004 she completed her five year reiki training and became a Reiki Master. In 2005, Daniella completed a sound healing training course taught by renowned teacher and healer, Tom Kenyon. Learning about the scientific effects of sound on the brain and body was deeply illuminating for her, and opened a pathway of exploration where she learned to combine reiki and sound to help heal the body and spirit. She has also been trained extensively in clairvoyant healing and past life regression techniques, which she employs in her private sessions. Daniella is also a vocalist, and creates headdresses with her design label The Plumed Serpent. Her website can be found HERE.

Experiential Anatomy: The Pelvis

In this self-study (svadhyaya) workshop we’ll learn about the hips and pelvis both anatomically, functionally, and experientially. 

Why? Our pelvis is our center of gravity, the bowl that holds our organs, and the very roots of life. Associated with the root chakra, we often take this foundational part of ourselves for granted, often resulting in soreness around the low back, sore hips, or even sore knees. Having more freedom and awareness in the hips can result in ease in walking, a sense of confidence and power in your yoga practice, and in your life. 

Bring your curiosity, your awareness, your coffee or tea, a notebook and pen, and wear your yoga clothes with layers for warmth. We’ll go on a journey of self-discovery through lecture, discussion, an Awareness through Movement® lesson, and an opportunity for learning that will alter your sense of your own power.

Family Yoga Special Class with Ellie Griffin
 
Join us for a family yoga class designed especially for kids! Yoga provides amazing benefits for us humans, and kids are no exception. Starting yoga early helps not only with kid's cognitive abilities, but also helps them figure out how to recognize and control what's going on inside. We will practice breathing and being, so your 2-7 year old begins to learn how to control their body and mind. They'll gain emotional and mental awareness and make friends in the process!

Ellie is a yoga teacher who focuses on physicality and mindfulness in her teachings. She uses movement, breath work, and self love to help her students create a calm mind and compassionate heart. Sound Bath is an improvised concert designed to provide an environment where energy that is no longer needed can be released, shifting the mind, body and spirit into a deeply relaxed state of being. Participants are bathed in powerful vibrations that help entrain their brain waves into Theta. It is in this deeply relaxed state that physical / mental / spiritual healing can take place, activating the parasympathetic nervous system, cellular regeneration, stress release, and emotional/physical healing.

Participants lay in a comfortable position on the floor (savasana), while Daniella plays the crystal bowls and gongs, accompanied by her shamanic vocal toning. Many people have reported physical healing, and often experience a night of deep rejuvenating sleep after the sound bath. Please bring anything that you may need to feel comfortable lying on the floor for the savsana. Blankets, pillows, yoga mats etc. are welcome. Wear comfortable clothing and please be hydrated before and after the event.

About Daniella White: Daniella White is a certified Usui Reiki Master and Sound Healer practicing in Seattle, Washington. In 2004 she completed her five year reiki training and became a Reiki Master. In 2005, Daniella completed a sound healing training course taught by renowned teacher and healer, Tom Kenyon. Learning about the scientific effects of sound on the brain and body was deeply illuminating for her, and opened a pathway of exploration where she learned to combine reiki and sound to help heal the body and spirit. She has also been trained extensively in clairvoyant healing and past life regression techniques, which she employs in her private sessions. Daniella is also a vocalist, and creates headdresses with her design label The Plumed Serpent.

It’s hard to define “senior” these days. Often we think of seniors as being a certain age or older, Let’s say 65 and older. But today, a senior person cannot be defined by his or her chronological age. In the Senior Yoga classes I have taught, participants have ranged in age from 55 to 104. Truly! It’s amazing. A person who is 75 can be absolutely age-defying, extremely active and physically fit, as well as able to attend a general hatha yoga mat class. Often though, people come to Senior / Chair Yoga classes because they have mobility issues, very common as we age, of course, as well as with conditions such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, joint replacements, stiffness and other often age-related medical conditions. 

Working with this population is a beautiful gift and very inspiring. They are so eager to learn yoga, for so many it is new to them. Time and time again, participants are amazed at how the yoga makes them feel in their bodies – they notice more mobility and relaxation after just one session. 

In this training, learn how to teach both chair and mat yoga to the “senior” population. This course focuses on teaching chair yoga classes, as well as classes that combine both chair and mat yoga classes. You will learn how to teach people with different levels of mobility and health issues in and inclusive and safe way.

We will focus on age-appropriate movement, for the aging body, as well as taking into consideration what may be going on mentally and emotionally as we age. 

We will discuss in detail the most common health issues we see among students who attend senior / chair yoga classes, including high blood pressure, Parkinson’s Disease, previous stroke, joint replacement, partial hearing and sight loss, arthritis, osteoporosis and poor balance.

About Jodi:

In 2001, while teaching yoga at the YMCA, Jodi met a student with Parkinson’s Disease. His doctor had advised him to try yoga. Because of the severity of his Parkinson’s, it wasn’t the best fit for him to be in a group class setting. At that time, Jodi was a new teacher and was unfamiliar with Parkinson’s Disease and the benefits yoga could have. But, she believed in yoga and knew there must be benefits, so she began researching, and later began working privately with the student in his home. Over the months that Jodi met with him, she was amazed at how much he looked forward to the sessions. He relaxed during the sessions, and was able to practice a full chair yoga sequence that was tailored to meet his needs. Some years later, Jodi lived in Bend, and while there, began teaching yoga to seniors at the local senior center. In 2013, Jodi completed the Silver Age Yoga Teacher Training. Since 2014, Jodi has offered her Senior Yoga Teacher Training as part of a 500-hour teacher training program at Spirit Yoga in Osaka, Japan. Today, Jodi frequently teaches yoga to seniors living at University House in Wallingford, as well as privately.

 

About Heather:

Heather Danso is devoted to helping people lower stress and find new possibilities for health and movement through yoga, Reiki, mindfulness, and by honoring the intuition and experience of each individual. She incorporated Yoga and The FeldenkraisMethod® into her life as part of her development of strength and stability after multiple injuries. A former high school teacher and dancer, she brings not only experience, but extensive training in alignment and functional anatomy. Her classes and private lessons focus on developing body-awareness, compassion, intentionality, expressiveness, and kindness. Family Yoga Special Class with Ellie Griffin
 
Join us for a family yoga class designed especially for kids! Yoga provides amazing benefits for us humans, and kids are no exception. Starting yoga early helps not only with kid's cognitive abilities, but also helps them figure out how to recognize and control what's going on inside. We will practice breathing and being, so your 2-7 year old begins to learn how to control their body and mind. They'll gain emotional and mental awareness and make friends in the process!
 
About Ellie:
Ellie is a yoga teacher who focuses on physicality and mindfulness in her teachings. She uses movement, breath work, and self love to help her students create a calm mind and compassionate heart. She's passionate about sharing this practice with her community in as many ways as possible. Ellie is currently working on completing her 500 hour teacher training.

Acro Yoga Workshop:
Have you ever wanted to try Acro-Yoga but not known where to start? This workshop is the perfect beginning to your Acro journey. In this workshop you will learn how to develop a strong relationship based on trust and connection with your Acro partner, and learn the fundamental postures of acrobatic yoga, and partner stretches.

What to bring:

  • Form-fitting clothes that you can move in (and aren't too revealing when upside down!)
  • Water
  • One Yoga Mat per partnership
  • Notepad and pencil (optional)

About Nick and Amanda:
 Nick and Amanda started practicing acro yoga together in 2013. Nick found acro through the rock climbing community as something to do when your fingers don’t want to climb any longer. Amanda found acro through her studies of circus arts at the Bellingham Circus Guild. They day they discovered their mutual love of acro was magical and thus began their partnership. Since then, they have been developing themselves as a circus duo focusing on partner aerial silk and acrobatics. Nick teaches yoga, and fitness around the Seattle area as well as performs in musical theatre, while Amanda teaches circus full time at SANCA (school of acrobatics and new circus arts). Both graduated from Western Washington University, Nick with a degree in dance and Amanda with a degree in acting and playwriting. They will be getting married in July and are very excited to share their love of Acro Yoga with the community at Be Luminous.

Powerful Sequencing with Liz Doyle:

The overarching goal of the course will be to provide the tools for teachers to create intelligent and intentional sequencing that makes sense in their students’ physical and energetic bodies.  Learn how to sequence in a way that will:

  • develop your students' physical practice towards big poses
  • incorporate larger concepts around Nature’s Rhythms and Universal energies, including sacred geometry, myth and the topics about which you are personally passionate 
  • put it all together in a complete, polished and balanced sequence

You’ll be given a skeleton sequence at the start of the course, and we’ll use that foundation to layer on the concepts and adjust the sequence as necessary to incorporate them.  You’ll finish the course with a complete sequence integrating all the elements presented in the course. Learn the skills that will put you on track to become a confident and well-respected teacher of yoga, and keep your students coming back for more.

Handstands for Yoga Workshop

Ever look at a picture of a handstand and wonder how it's even possible? What do these people know that you don't? The truth is, there ARE some secrets to making handstands more accessible. Of course it requires practice, but wouldn't it be nice to know some shortcuts? I'll teach you the tips and techniques, conditioning exercises that give you a clear path to handstands, and even explain something I've never heard another teacher teach. 

We’ll also cover the yogic value of handstands, and how they help us connect with our Inner Light of Awareness, cultivate courage, and make us healthier. If you have not YET learned to do a handstand, you'll walk away with new skills. If you can handstand, we'll offer you a challenge too. Get ready for hard work combined with fun.
