Ruth Bryan started practicing yoga when she was a broke, stressed out college senior. Immediately, she knew she'd found something priceless. She budgeted out a class a week for two years, during which even a little yoga helped her reduce stress and anxiety, feel physically powerful, and heal from trauma. After moving to Seattle from Paris, she had the opporutnity to choose yoga as the foundational piece in her new life. She started working at Be Luminous as a manager and completed her 200 hour Teacher Training with them in early 2015. In the years following she has completed trainings in Baron Baptiste's Level One, Next Generation Yoga for Kids, Yoga Behind Bars Trauma Informed Training, Restorative Yoga Training with Jodi Boone, and The Art of teaching Alignmet with Desiree Rumbaugh. She feels passionately about how yoga can be used as a vehicle for mindful presence, and embodied strength. In her classes she loves to draw on her musical background (yes, she used to be in a band!) creating fun playlists or singing live chants. Besides yoga she is a tarot-reader, Yoga Behind Bars and Mary's Place volunteer, and avid explorer of new environments: from the mountains of the PNW to the cities of India.
