Zahr started practicing yoga in the late 1990s, and began a daily or near-daily practice 7 years ago. She completed her teacher training at Be Luminous in May 2014 and since then has taught in various locations, offering both heated and unheated yoga. Her classes blend elements from multiple styles of yoga including Vinyasa, Hatha, and Ashtanga, with an occasional martial arts stretch from her long-ago days teaching kung fu. She believes that yoga creates mobility in the body and freedom in the mind, and she focuses on giving students knowledge and tools to empower themselves and create their own practice. Zahr experienced, and continues to experience, great transformation through yoga and she is passionate about sharing the gift of yoga with others. She believes that teaching is her calling and she teaches law full-time. Off the mat, she is mother to two young kids and stepmother to twins, in a very full, noisy, crumb-filled house that makes yoga all the more important.
